Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-04-17 · Compliant with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act)

Insuriam.com (“we”, “us”) is an educational publisher. We collect the minimum amount of data needed to run the website and improve the content you read. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

1. Data we do not collect

  • We do not ask for your health history, medical reports, or financial statements.
  • We do not capture your PAN, Aadhaar, policy number, claim ID, or any insurer-issued identifier.
  • We do not run “get a callback” or expert-call lead-capture forms — because we do not sell leads to insurers.

2. Data we do collect

Automatic (every visitor)

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): anonymised page views, approximate location (country / state), device type, referrer. Used to understand which articles are useful and where they need improvement.
  • Microsoft Clarity: anonymised session recordings (no keystrokes from form fields, no PII), heatmaps. Used to spot usability problems.
  • Google AdSense (once enabled): cookie-based ad personalisation. You can manage this via Google My Ad Center.
  • Vercel hosting logs: IP address, user-agent, timestamp — for abuse protection. Automatically rotated by Vercel.

Voluntary (only if you choose to share)

  • Contact form / email: if you email us or use the contact form, we receive your email address and message. Used only to respond.
  • Calculator inputs: calculator inputs are processed in your browser. We do not transmit them to our servers.

3. Why we collect

DPDP Act 2023 requires we state a lawful purpose. Ours are:

  • Provide the website you are reading.
  • Measure article performance to improve editorial quality.
  • Protect the site from abuse and fraud.
  • Monetise via ads so the content can remain free.
  • Respond to your contact queries when you email us.

4. Who we share data with

  • We never sell your data. Period.
  • Our analytics and ad partners (Google, Microsoft) receive anonymised, aggregated traffic data per their standard cookie policies.
  • If you click an outbound affiliate link (labelled as such), the partner platform's own privacy policy applies from that point onwards.

5. Where data is stored

Our hosting (Vercel) uses edge servers including India regions. Analytics data is stored on Google and Microsoft infrastructure per their standard operating regions. We do not manage a separate customer database.

6. Your rights (DPDP Act 2023)

  • Right to access the data we hold about you.
  • Right to correction of any inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure of voluntary data (e.g. your email).
  • Right to withdraw consent (via browser cookie settings).
  • Right to grievance redressal — email us first at insuriamdotcom@gmail.com; if unresolved, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

7. Cookies and how to disable them

We use first-party and third-party cookies for analytics and advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of GA4 via Google's opt-out add-on and personalised ads via Google My Ad Center. Disabling cookies does not affect our core content.

8. Children

Insuriam.com is intended for readers 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has contacted us, please email so we can delete the record.

9. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be dated at the top of this page. Minor clarifications may be rolled in silently.
